Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

Why a teacher teaches...

Well, it's time to turn into "MRS. WISE"! I'll do my best to post a few times per week!  It will be a joy to come home and read your blogs!

You will be in my prayers.  Please continue to update "Pray Without Ceasing" so I can pray for your needs and celebrate your praises!

This is one of my favorite poems.
Enjoy!  Have a wonderful week!

  The Bridge Builder

by Will Allen Dromgoole

An old man, going a lone highway,
Came at the evening cold and gray,
To a chasm, vast and deep and wide,
Through which was flowing a sullen tide.
The old man crossed in the twilight dim-
That sullen stream had no fears for him;
But he turned, when he reached the other side,
And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim near,
"You are wasting strength in building here.
Your journey will end with the ending day;
You never again must pass this way.
You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide,
Why build you the bridge at the eventide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head.
"Good friend, in the path I have come," he said,
"There followeth after me today
A youth whose feet must pass this way.
This chasm that has been naught to me
To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be.
He, too, must cross in the twilight dim;
Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

    1. Yup. You're a kindred spirit, Christine!
      You cracked me up with the square joke. My coworker, Anne (not Green Gables) would find that extremely amusing! If you talk to her, I should keep a whole roll on me... Ugh.

      The verse is just what I needed! Thank you! Thank you for your prayers! I am most appreciative of them!

      Have a wonderful day!

      Blessings and love!
