Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

Happy New Year!

Taken at Longwood Gardens May 2012

“Thus says the LORD, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters, “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Happy New Year, Dear Friends!

Urgent Prayer Needed... Updated.

I just got word that the father of two of my "former" students (they are never not my kids in my mind) has fallen and hit his head.  He has a skull fracture, multiple bleeds, and is in a coma on life support.  They need your prayers urgently.  The whole family is dear to me.  There is a back story that I can't share, but God knows. Prayer for God's will.  Please prayer for the father, but especially Sam, Hannah, and their mother, Anna.

Thank you to all who read this and pray... Seems like a day full of prayer needs...

Update... The father of my students passed away Wednesday night.  Please pray for this family as they cope with this loss.  Sam, the son, has taken on the role as "Man of the Family" on top of being in his first year of college.  He is considering taking his classes by internet so that he can be with his family.  We are all so blessed and proud of Sam, and we know that God will mightily use this experience in his life.  But, it is a big undertaking and a lot of stress for a young man.  We pray and know that God will give him the strength to take on this new role. His little sister, Hannah, is taking it very hard.  She is such a sweet and sensitive soul in general.  So thank you for your prayers and your continued prayers for my dear friends.
Hello, All!
Just a quick post.  There are so many prayer requests out there.  We are blessed to have such an almighty and caring Father who hears all our concerns. He is almighty and sovereign, but loves His children in spite of themselves.

I moved the prayer board we started to a tab at the top.  If you feel led to post a request for yourself or on someone else's behalf, please do!  Let's lift one another up in prayer! I so appreciate your dedication to praying for one another. Where two or three are gathered in HIS name, HE is in the midst of them... Even when they are gathered over laptops and iPads...

Love and Blessings, Dear Ones,
Heather

His Eye is on the Sparrow...

Eastern Goldfinch at my bird feeder during the snow...

“His Eye is on the Sparrow”
Written by Mrs. C. D. Martin

Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely
and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion?
My constant friend is he:
His eye is on the sparrow,
and I know he watches me.

"Let not your heart be troubled,"
his tender word I hear,
and resting on his goodness,
I lose my doubts and fears;
though by the path he leadeth
but one step I may see:
His eye is on the sparrow,
and I know he watches me.
(Refrain)

Whenever I am tempted,
whenever clouds arise,
when song gives place to sighing,
when hope within me dies;
I draw the closer to him,
from care he sets me free:
His eye is on the sparrow,
and I know he watches me.

Refrain:
I sing because I'm happy,
I sing because I'm free,
for his eye is on the sparrow,
and I know he watches me.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Snnnnooooooowwwwww!

For all of my dear friends who long for snow, but don't live in a climate that creates it.  This is by no means a "rub it in" posting.  It is a "taste".  Just like when I get sick of snow, I will relish your warm, sunny pictures!

(This is specifically for you, Angela!  A belated Merry Christmas.  You can sit by your real fire, in pjs, and look at my snow.  I can sit by a fake fire place, in my pjs, looking at real snow. Let have some coffee!)

It started like pellets.  It looked like someone's bean bag chair blew up.  I know this because it frequently happens in my classroom.  That is what you get with decade old bean bag chairs...

Wintery, but Warm Hugs and Blessings!

Good Morning!

I have posted some more pin keeps.  You can find them on the menu bar above- click on "The Marm's Primitive Pin Keeps"

I am working on posting my Christmas decor photos! With the snow, it seems to be a cozy day to do that.  And read.  And drink coffee.  And take a nap.  I think the nap is first...

Thank you for all of your Christmas well-wishes!  They were greatly appreciated.  I loved reading through your blogs and looking at your FABULOUS Christmas decors!  I got a lot of inspiration!  And, lots of tutorials for crafts and cooking!  Love it!  Thank you for the time everyone took to share these things!

Happy New Year to you all, Dear Friends!

Hugs, Love, and Blessings,
Heather

Merry Christmas!

And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

Love and Blessings,
Heather
