Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

Confessions of a Pinkeepaholic- My Pinkeep Swap with Wendy

Seriously.  It's a problem.  Remember the Pumpkin/Benadryl Epidemic of 2012? This is worse.  Waaaay worse.  Do you know why?  Because it is not a seasonal thing.  Do you know why else?  Benadryl is not involved.  Ugh. Houston? Yup.  There's a problem...

Commercial Break- I have heard so many people express a lack of enthusiasm to blogging recently.  Due to the copious amounts of snow, I would say there's a relationship (DUH!).  Do you feel like this?

So, yes, I have been absent from the world of blogging for a good chunk of this school year.  My mind is clogged with participles, Jamestown, Cause and Effect, and other random bits of information that roll around the thing that is my brain.  Plus, it is only now starting to thaw out. My brain.  Apparently NOT the weather for it be SNOWIN' outside!
For this winter, my brain  has been like, you know, in the morning when you have to leave the house, you start your car ahead of time so it will be nice and toasty when you get in (assuming it has a full tank of gas...).  Once you finally are ready, you dash to your warm car and focus on driving the icy roads to school (the sad thing is that this metaphor is true).  In between that, school, and navigating the icy roads back home, everything else is a blur.  I just have not been inspired to blog this year because my stories are blurred. I get home and think, "What was that funny thing that they did? Oh, look! The couch!  Zzzzzzzzzz..."  Don't get me wrong, I love my job, my class, everything!  God has been so good!  It is just hard to share the stories for this year though.  This class of 22 students and my aide and I are like a family unit.  You know when you have family stories, and you try to tell them to someone outside of your family?  You are laughing so hard the whole way through the delivery of it.  Then, you get to the reaction... Crickets in the night.  You realize that you had to be there to get it.  Well, a lot of my stories are like that... Like the Projectile Vomiting, Part 1 & 2. Funny, but I fear "the crickets" for that one... Or gagging...

Now, where was I?  Oh, yes.  Pinkeep hoarding.  Right, right...

So, my mom got me that coffee make-do cabinet a few month ago.  I treasure its prim-self, and the fact it is from her.  Well, it has become a home to pinkeeps. Okay, a palace. Or a condominium complex.  I don't know what it is about pinkeeps, but I just love them- making and (Shhhhh...)buying them.  So, when Wendy from Ravenwood Whimzies says it is time for one of her annual pinkeep swaps, I am on it like gum in a kids hair!  Pinkeep Swap?  Did someone say Pinkeep Swap? Hotdiggity dog!
"Mama, you's knows you gots a lot of keeps over there, rights? You gots a little bits of an obseshin'."

My partner was Wendy, the host of the Spring Pin Keep Swap.  Wendy, as many of you know, has the blog Ravenwood Whimzies.  I think I found her etsy site before her blog.  But, it has been a privilege to get to know her these past few year.  She is a very sweet and talented lady.  You MUST check out her blog! Great prim tutorials too!  So, God is so good in his infinite mercies. ALWAYS.  I had had a long day at school last week, trying to get report cards done, a cold windy blacktop recess duty, and it was my good day for planning periods, and I got nothing done.  I was beat.  I felt like one of my hamsters on his squeaky wheel. But, when I got home... God's timing through Wendy... Ahhhh.  This wonderful package awaited me when I got  home... (Sorry the pictures are blurry.  I only have my ipod camera right now...)
Erasers and chocolate- the way to a  teacher's heart. Oh, yeah...
Is this not the cutest?  Is she talented or what?  I love the dancing one in the middle!
How thoughtful is this?  I love Nasturtiums!  I can't wait to plant these!

The Pinkeep Condo... Oh, dear...
This is her temporary home at "the condo". Once I get "Winter" off of my dining room table, she is going to have a better spot for Spring! I hope to show Spring pictures soon.  It would help if it actually felt like Spring, maybe?

Wendy is extremely talented, as many of you know.  I have the privilege of owning and cherishing a few of her creations...
This was my first purchase two years ago... Moo-moo...
