Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

Ode to a Friend...

Colossians 4:6
"Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person."

I need to thank my friend, Christine, from Preferably Prim.  She was the first person to take an interest in my blog, to encourage me to not only stay with it, but to make sure I do not compromise in putting God first when I write. She is a wonderful testimony in her walk with God.

I appreciate the time you took to respond and comment on my blog posts!

I appreciate you and your gracious, encouraging, and kind words!

Now, come back on a trip to Lancaster so we can go shopping!

Blessings,
Heather

  2. Thank you for being a part of my "path" as well! ;) It is nice to have Christian fellowship! I am definitely finding this a blessing! I am usually around 10 and 11 year olds all day! Thank you for your encouragement as well, "Mrs. Parsley"! Glad to have you as a friend!

  3. Ohhh Heather this is an honor! Thank you for being so thoughtful and generous in posting about me.
I truly felt a kinship with you as soon as I started reading your blog!
And I am challenged by your desire to put God first - something I struggle to do.
Thank you so much and if at all possible, I'll be back to one of my favorite places: Lancaster County!
    Blessings dear friend

    1. I fail miserably at putting God first. It became real to me how I need to strive harder in it by being a teacher. Now, I am sort of protected by the hedge that is my christian school, but in my life outside of it... Ugh. This year, I had a wonderful class. It was a small class. 7 students. They were my favorite class ever. Shhhh, don't tell. God laid it on my heart that as I "preached" at them, was I walking all of my talking? I started examining what I watched and listened to. It is hard. I can't even imagine that greater responsibility as a parent- constantly being observed and evaluated. Teachers/Parents are held very responsible for what they say. I know I heard that said many times, but then it sunk in and terrified me. I am held accountable. Yikes! So,my dear, we will challenge each other! That's what friends do!

:) Kindred spirits! You betcha! I felt it too! You better come back soon! AND- we're going shopping! :) And I want to get ice cream and hear you say that you want a poke. I want to see what happens. :)

      Blessings back to you!

      Heather

  6. I think that is so wonderful to develop such deep relationships through blogs. One thing I have particularly been blessed by is the circle of prayer I see. Where two or three are gathered, God is in the midst of them- whether in other states or countries. The eagerness to cover one another in prayer is so touching! I am truly enjoying the fellowship!

Hmmmm, yes, we are close. I live in Northern Lancaster County. I also went to Messiah College and took my 2 day long teacher's exam at Gettysburg College. I love Gettysburg. My husband loves history- Civil War and WWII. So, I have visited your home area many times! :) I even went to the Battlefields when I was in fourth grade! I remember climbing all over Devil's Den! I am excited that there are some Keystoners on the blog circuit! Yea!
