Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

Happenings...

Newest pinkeeps- I love the wooden one- a old treen cup with carved rings!

Making Signs- Printer, Carbon Paper, & Paint!

Goodwillin'...

Wreaths- Target, $1 for 2.  Pumpkins- Goodwill, $.50

The beginnings of Sandy (Although she has not made landfall yet.)

Check out my little stove- it's my smore maker and some vintage pans... Hope I don't have to use it!

How much rain we have since this morning (It is now 11:30 am).  I am tracking it on my chalkboard in the hall. Rain and wind picking up.  It is not supposed to be here until tonight.  Already scary now. I am going to go take a shower, make brownies, and cook chicken before the power goes out.

Well, I am all up-to-date now with my posts!  I am praying for you all, and I hope you are all safe and well!

I will leave you with the song from my childhood that has just popped in my brain the last few days...

"How Can I Fear?”
by Ron Hamilton (Patch the Pirate)

 WHEN SHADOWS FALL AND THE NIGHT COVERS ALL
THERE ARE THINGS THAT MY EYES CAN NOT SEE,
I’LL NEVER FEAR FOR THE SAVIOUR IS NEAR;
MY LORD ABIDES WITH ME.

HOW CAN I FEAR? JESUS IS NEAR,
HE EVER WATCHES OVER ME.
WORRIES ALL CEASE, HE GIVES ME PEACE.
HOW CAN I FEAR WITH JESUS?

WHEN I’M ALONE AND I FACE THE UNKNOWN
AND I FEAR WHAT THE FUTURE MAY BE,
I CAN DEPEND ON THE STRENGTH OF MY FRIEND,
HE WALKS ALONG WITH ME.

HOW CAN I FEAR? JESUS IS NEAR,

HE EVER WATCHES OVER ME.
WORRIES ALL CEASE, HE GIVES ME PEACE.
HOW CAN I FEAR WITH JESUS?

JESUS IS KING, HE CONTROLS EVERY THING;

HE IS WITH ME EACH NIGHT AND EACH DAY.
I TRUST MY SOUL TO THE SAVIOUR’S CONTROL;
HE DRIVES ALL FEAR AWAY – AWAY – AWAY!
HE WATCHES OVER ME
I WILL NOT FEAR……..WITH - - - - - HIM.

Blessings,
Heather

  3. Praying for you, Heather - I cannot imagine the destructive power these storms bring as we don't have anything comparable really. The words of the song are wonderful, thank you for sharing!
    Do you know, 'With Christ in the vessel I can smile at the storm?' a children's chorus we were singing and now I'm humming it and thinking of you all in the US.
    God bless you and keep you.

  5. Hello, Ladies!
    THank you for your prayers! I don't know how long the power will hold on. The worst part of the storm is from now until the next 5-6 hours. Winds are going to start gusting from 60-80 mph. The are pretty strong now! We are going on 4 inches of rain now. And, the hurricane isn't even here yet! But, God is bigger than storms! Dog is a little off kilter. She won't go outside. She got so nervous that she peed on Steve's sleeping bag. That is so unlike her. We made some brownies as comfort food! So, we are enjoying the power while we have it!

    Blessings, Dear Friends!

    1. Hi, Fran!
      I know with the wreaths! They had some good Fall stuff in their cheap bins when you come into the store! You never know what you are going to find! I love Goodwill- bargains for a good cause! What's not to love!!!!???

      How did you know that all of my brownies were gone? ;) My husband just said he is getting cabin fever. Good grief! We are watching "Home Alone". I don't know why, but this storm has made me want to watch Christmas movies! Meatballs and cookies sure do sound yummy!!!! Food and movies- I guess that is a good normal, right? Better than no power, praise God!!!

      I pray that your cousin stays safe! Thank you for your prayers!!!! They are greatly appreciated! It is good to talk with you!!!!!
