Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

Friends Don't Let Friends Buy Too Many Pumpkins...

Seriously.  This is what happens after a long week at school, a cold, and a lack of fellowship with my dear, blog friends.
Shupp's Grove- It is actually a box! $5.  The lady was offering it at 1/2 price!
Same place, same lady- I think it is a coconut. $1!  I may be offering this on eBay!
eBay-Cherrysprairiesprimitives2.  I loved it!  It is crocheted with a real twig as its stem.  $8

eBay- Old Goat Primitives-$13  It is really tall!  I can't wait to place it!!!

  2. Amy,
Seriously, it is hard for me to say coming from a buyer viewpoint, rather than a seller. I love going there. We go frequently, as we are like 10 minutes away (so let me know if you do go!), it is a beautiful setting, and we just enjoy walking around and talking to people about their wares (that is how I learn!). I do get good bargains. I tend to get good bargains on some "bad weather days" and when dealers start to pack up because they don't want to haul it home. I have a couple of sellers with whom I chat with regularly, and they say the sales are hit or miss. Weather can sometimes be a factor, yet we went one rainy day, and they said sales were good! Hot days are bad, even with the shade, and dealers tend to pull out early. The two "theme" weekends and just weekends that seem to do well are: Primitives and Folkart (Hmmmm- MY FAVORITE!) and Bottle Week (You get a lot of pottery too). Extravaganza Weekends are good because all of the Antique Stores and such in the area promote each other and stay open later. Adamstown is know as a big antique tourist attraction. Plus, there are many campgrounds, so again, tourists. Shupp's does offer the first Saturday of every month as "Garage Sale Day". You can get a table for $5! We thought about doing that, but you need to be there early, and well, not gonna do it... ;) I hope some of the information from my perspective is helpful. I think distance and now gas money is a big factor as to whether or not it is worth it.

Thank YOU for stopping by and helping me to feel better about my pumpkin addiction! I hope this finds you well, Amy!

    Blessings to you as well,
    Heather

  4. Trace,
I am getting there! All of my students have colds and many of the teachers do too! 2 were out today! I guess our whole school needs covered in prayer. And Lysol.

    Love your posts, Dear!
