Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

What kind of coffee would you like?

No ironing here!

  2. Heather, I hang my head and ask forgivness. I really tried to sit still at the dining room table. It was so pretty, the coffee was delicious, and the room was so cozy, but I am somewhat of a nosey kind of gal. You just had too many treasures to look at and I had to get up and ramble from one wonderful area to another. I just love everything. So many wonderful items and love how you have them displayed. Thanks for having me over. I always have heard what you do on New Years Day you will do all year. Guess we are in for many more wonderful visits. I promise to sit and chat and not ramble next time.
    Hugs,
    Angela

    1. Awww, you're just too nice! Oh, my... So today, I brought veggies for lunch. One of my students then gives me a cupcake. He tells me he needs to cut back because he is going to Florida in a few weeks (LOL!!!!). He was so nice about it, I couldn't bear not to eat it, so I did. Then the snowman flashed before me... Bleck!

    1. Well, I am in the middle of working on the spare bedroom, but we do have a futon downstairs in "The Man Cave". You are so welcome to stay! What would you like for breakfast? Then, I will use a personal day, and we can either sit, sip coffee and watch movies or go shopping- your choice!

      Hugs to you, my dear!

  7. Oh what a fun visit on the night of the New year! I loved my visit girl! I love your snowman collection, they are my favorite but don't have nearly as many as you do. Thanks for being such a gracious hostess.

    1. I wish you could REALLY visit! We would have such fun! My mom and I get snowmen each year. We get the same one. Okay, so maybe sometimes, 2 a year. But it is the one style that looks like paper mache. Of course, if you tell people you like snowmen, especially students... Guess what you get...

Thank you for being such a kind and sweet guest! I hope you bundled up. It is COLD!!!!!

      Blessings to you too, Cindi!!!!

  8. Oh you'll have to push me out the door! There's still so much I need to look at again - you are amazing and it all looks WONDERFUL! So cozy and Christmas-y that I might even hide under the table and peek around when everyone else is gone - and I'll have dessert - you can never have too much of a good thing and you know how to do that well!
Just one query; where on earth do you store all your seasonal decor? I've just packed mine away and have little or no space left in the attic space!
    Happy New Year, 'tresured' friend!

    1. Heeee, heee... I am under the table too... Want more pie? Need your tea warmed up?

As far as storage... I have 4 rubbermaid tubs. Then, they go neatly (depending on the mood) along the wall in the garage. This year, I am going to purge anything I did not use and am not attached to. I am then going to put stuff in tubs according to room and enclose a picture of how I set it up. I used to put things into containers, well sort of organized, sort of like, 'Go away now'...

A lot of it really is adding items to things already there.

      Okay, so more tea?

    1. Karen, I have to say first, you have a beautiful smile. I always notice it in your little photo when you post.

I love the mercury too! I got those ornaments in the wooden bowl at Cocalico Creek a few years back. Our Acme actually had mercury style battery candles. It is on my coffee table. It is green (they didn't have silver or red) and was only $5. It really is lovely when turned on.

Kolhls had a lot of mercury glass this year, as did Target. I just didn't like their shapes though. It does make a nice contrast with things like wood!

Thank you for stopping by! Blessings to you! I always enjoy your company!
