Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

R&R&R...

Grading:
Numerous hours...

Filling out report cards:
Total of 24 hours (Not all at once. It felt like it though.)...

Cleaning up desk...
0 hours (I left it that way.  Is that wrong?)
Quick quiz: Who is in the picture on my desk in the lower left hand corner of the picture?

Hanging around the house in your PJ's all day and watching "Waltons- A Christmas Homecoming"?
PRICELESS (Ok. So I was crafting and decorating too...)

And the cherry on top...
A new blog friend, Elle, at House of Harvest had a giveaway!  If you want to see a comforting blog filled with just beauty and warmth, you need to check out her blog!
And although I was not the main winner, she gave special treats to a few runners-up! I love how she posted the winners. It's a chalkboard; I'm a teacher.  What's not to love?
Is the "HOME" banner not sweet?  I love it!  It came in a cute burlap bag too!  I put that to use too... There is a sneak peek of some Christmas decor...
Final Quiz... What do you think that my title "R&R&R" stands for?

Gold Stars for correct answers!

Blessings, Friends!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

  1. Hi Heather, sounds like you got a lot accomplished today. When does your Christmas break start? Cute home banner! I can't tell who the picture is of on your desk because it is too small. R< R and R? I bet it isn't reading riting and rithmatic! How about Recording (grades) Relaxing( Tv in jams and crafting) and Receiving (the home banner)? LOL
    Have a great night,
    Be blessed,

    1. Hi. Cindi!!!!!!
I have 2 weeks until break. I can't wait. The kids were acting like break starts tomorrow! Actually, I was thinking of something else for the R's, but I like yours better!!!! Love it! As far as the picture- an Italian explorer who was hired by Spain to find a shorter route to India. He even has his own holiday!

I got some done today. I am still out of steam from staying up late working on report cards! So, I put some things up, got distracted, got on the computer, worked on some crafts, got on the computer... You get the picture. I have one area decorated and the rest is a disaster! How does that happen????

I hope this finds you well! It is so good to chat with you! Thank you for stopping by, dear friend. I really appreciate it!

      Blessings and hugs!

    1. Ugh, Judy. I really do love being a teacher. I HATE grading. I'd rather sit down with parents and discuss it or write a descriptive paragraph about their progress. I hate the the comparisons parents and kids make with letter grades. Only an "A" can possibly mean that child is doing his/her best. These poor kids are surrounded by comparisons instead of looking at their own personal bests and being themselves, they are trying to be like a tv star or some other student. We are fearfully and wonderfully made by God. We are unique and created for a purpose... If only I could get that across! But, I can't change hearts. Only God...

Anyhooo, Yeah. I am still grumpy from grading... :) What do you teach?

So, let us both go relax and be glad it is over. For now... Ugh.

      Blessings!!!! Heather

  3. I know what you mean, Heather. I have taught first grade for over 30 years. It is so hard to go from kindergarten written reports to first term letter grades in first grade. Just finished midterm progress reports which are just like report cards.
