Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

I am still here!

Here I am! Just thought you might want to know.

Ugh.  I know I haven't been posting any prim decor lately.  I am working on it.  Right now I am taking a break from moving 3 pieces of furniture and painting a shelf (If I work while I let the paint dry, I won't be tempted to touch it!).

I am still working on my pincushions.  I have about 20.  Now, here is the question.  Those of you who sell, should I just post one picture of each pinkeep with the price?  And then a description of the item?  Well, if you have a chance, ya'll can let me know what you think!  I appreciate your opinions ever so much.

Hmmm. Ok, so the same week we had off 2 days for the hurricane, we went back to school for one day, and then we had an in-service and parent-teacher conferences.  That one day (Halloween was that night), was such a fun day (Yes, that is sarcasm...)! But, the class made up for it by bringing  their Butterfingers to share with me.  They were so cute about it!  Apparently, the other teachers have trained the students over the years to bring them some of their favorite candy from their loot.  They asked me what I liked.  I never dreamed that I would get so many.  Well, not so many now.  Not any at all.  Ooops.

Last week, I almost burnt some pinkeeps because my husband forgot I had them resting in the oven when he went to fire up the stove to make meatloaf (which was really good!).  That was my "Anne" moment of the week. He said they were toasty, but I thought they were prim!  I don't think he gets "prim" yet even after being married for 14 years.

We had a field trip to Hopewell Furnace.  It was a beautiful trip!  I will post pictures soon as they are on my "good" camera and not my iPod.  I loved it!  Well, except when the park ranger said they could throw dirt at each other in the casting room.  I know, right?  That did wonders for the cough I have had for the past month.  She kept telling them that when they blew their noses that night, gross stuff would come out.  Great.  Lovely.  Good to know.  Glad it was a Friday.

Hmmm.  Well, in getting over my cold, I have been really tired at the end of the day.  My hubby frequently finds me passed out on the couch when he gets home.  Apparently (he says), I get surly with him when he tells me to go to bed.  The one week, after Granny Trace was posting her woolie gingers, he said that I said "Ginger dudes are keeping me awake."  He got me to say it twice, and then I said, "Uh-oh..."  At that point, I was awake and knew he would use this incident against me.  Well, he went and wrote it on our chalkboard where he is keeping a diary of sorts of all of the weird sleepy things I say.  Last night, I supposedly said, "The coffee table is an inflatable kayak."  Ugh.

That's pretty much my adventures lately that have been keeping me from posting.  I am just really wanting to change over to Christmas decor, but since I am hosting Thanksgiving, I can't.  I could put a little Pilgrim hat on a snowman.  I guess that is pushing it.  Maybe.

Well, back to moving furniture!  I hope this finds you all well!  I miss talking with you all, but I have been enjoying poking around your blogs more!  My prayers are with you, especially our dear friends affected by Sandy!

Blessings!
Heather

    1. Jody,
I KNOW!!!! I had a dream last night that my students were unruly in Chapel (and they were students from years ago!). I could not get them to settle. So I yelled, "No recess for the rest of the year!" Then, a teacher got into an argument with me about my discipline methods, which is unlike me! By the time I woke up, I was in tears and stressed! AND we have Chapel today!!!!! Eeek!

Thank you for your kind words about the pincushions! Next step would have been a piece of charcoal and that IS too prim!!!

      Take care, dear friend!!!!

    1. Dianntha,
Hubbies are like that. Unfortunately, I have a habit of drying things there. And, unfortunately, he has a habit of forgetting that... ;)

Thank you for your encouragement with the pin keeps, I have about 10 more containers. I seriously just need to photograph the others, but my real camera takes more time to download than an iPod, ya know?

      Thank you for stopping by!!!!

      Blessings,
