I appreciate how much this blogging community lifts up one another in prayer...
A dear family in my school, one that I know and love very dearly, went on a Missions Trip to Guatemala. Some of you may know that the country was hit by a 7 magnitude earthquake with multiple large aftershocks. No one has been able to contact them, which is somewhat understandable, but worrisome nonetheless.
Thank you, in advance, for your prayers for the Silkroski family- Al, Marcia, Sydney, and Caleb.
I will keep you posted!
A reminder from our principal in the email that she sent...
Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how he has brought desolations on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
“Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Hi, all!!!
ReplyDeleteHi, All!
Thank you so much for your prayers! The parent who was in contact with the family finally got word that they are ok. They said that where they were staying, they only felt tremors. The staff and students are praising God!!! I do need prayer for my one little girl who is finding out tonight that her grandfather has died. I was told during the day, but they wanted to tell her after school. Thank you for your love and care to pray for these requests. You are all in my prayers!
Blessings,
Heather
Dear Heather, I am praying for the little girl that is the saddest news to hear. Thank you lord very happy to hear that your friend is ok. However, I will still pray for the other people that were affected by the earthquake. Hugs and Blessings, Anna

ReplyDeleteThe family who was in Guatemala arrived home safely! Yea!!! Praise God! Thank you for your prayers. Anna has the right idea, we need to pray for the rest of the families there who were not so fortunate.
As far as my student, I was told that she had definitely lost her grandfather. However, she did not seem any different the rest of the week. She is good at hiding her emotions. I don't know for sure they told her yet, but I would imagine so. The whole family is in need of prayer!
Thank you again, for your thoughtfulness in stopping and praying! It is greatly appreciated!
Blessings!
Heather
So glad to read in your comment section that the family is safe. I know there were many others who were affected by this earthquake, and I'm saying a prayer for them. Thank you for your visit to my blog and your very kind comment. laurie
