Hi, How'dy, How are ya?

Welcome to "The Country Schoolmarm"! Get yourself a cup of coffee (I take mine strong with vanilla creamer), grab a seat, and chat a while! Isn't that what country friends do? Now, all we need is a porch...

Ravenwood Whimzies Christmas in July Pinkeep Swap

I have had the absolute pleasure of previously participating in Wendy's Ravenwood Whimzies Blog pinkeep swaps.  I have gotten to know many talented ladies and  received such special and treasured pinkeeps (remember, I am a pinkeepaholic!). It has also been a growing experience for me in creating! I have enjoyed every swap.

The theme of this swap was "Christmas in July". My swap partner was Danice of Homespun Hannah's Blog.   If you look a few posts back, you will see I was the recipient of one of her giveaways. You can see from those pictures what a gifted artisan Danice is. Her work reflects her sweetness as an artisan and person.

When I opened my package, and saw my pinkeep, I just wanted to hug it. That would be bad, well, because of the pins. But, she is absolutely adorable.  And, there were some other goodies as well!

First, the pinkeep. I love mice. Yes, I admit it. I like rodents. Elves, on the other hand, well, elves creep me out. Sorry, elf on a shelf lovers. Ooh! But I do love the movie, Elf! Okay, okay. Back on track. My pinkeep is perfect and reflects such thoughtfulness. The mouse is so dear and sweet and holds a strawberry, another theme in pinkeeps I love. If you look closely, you can see all of the unique pins she put in, even an apple for the teacher! I just love all of the added details. She is so well made! Just perfectly dear!

Inside of the box were needles, thread, and a thimble- all things I desperately need and use! As I opened the other packages, I found a pair of small scissors! I was so excited! I only have big scissors! These were perfect for working on my dolls! The other goodies were a beautiful mat and cross-stitched reindeer! I can't wait to put them out for Christmas!

My pinkeep may have Christmas spirit, but it will be out and cherished all year long. Thank you, Danice for such a thoughtful and special pinkeep and your sweetness and generosity in your other gifts as well! Your package means so much to me. As do you! Your faithfulness in visiting and commenting on my blog is appreciated as well!

Please check out Danice's blog, Homespun Hannah's! You can see the other things her talented hands make!

Blessings and love to all!

Ravenwood Whimzies Winter Pinkeep Swap

I love a good pinkeep swap (Let's be real here.  How could it possibly be not good. It's pinkeeps. It's a swap. Enough said.) And Wendy from Ravenwood Whimzies  has fabulous ones. First of all, you have to understand, I have a bit of a pinkeep obsession.  Just a wee one.  Okay.  A big one.  Happy? So, I am on a pinkeep swap like bees on honey. Alright, so, enough about me.

My swap partner was Vicky from Paintspots and Splinters   She is a very creative and talented artisan, as you will see below.  She also has other adorable items in her Etsy shop . I'll tell you, these exchanges are dewdrops of God's mercy. The package came on such a dreary, tiring day. What a joy to open.  Look at how I was spoiled!

Oooohhhh! USPS package!

Beautiful penmanship! I sure do love good penmanship! You'd think I was a teacher!

Yummy!

Awww! An apple for the teacher! Perfect for my fall apple decor!

A snow angel! Love his sweet face!

Candy canes! I put those right into one of my crocks!

Now! The main attraction! Is she not wonderful!? I love that her wee bag is the pinkeep. I love the needle and thread and how it connects to the spool. So many precious details. She is perfect for my mouse collection in my old fashioned pantry. My other mice welcomed her with open arms. They were needing some mending done!

She fits in perfectly!

I enjoy creating pinkeeps for these swaps. It is an encouragement to me to keep creating and not let my creativity be squelched by busyness at work. I so appreciate the opportunity to meet so many talented ladies through these swaps. Thank you, Wendy, for organizing this swap.  Most of all, thank you, Vicky, for the time and love you put into your pinkeep. I will cherish it, and I will always have fond memories of you each Christmas when I see her cute little nose!

Love and Blessings to you all!

Pinkeep Swap

Hello.  My name is Mrs. Wise.  I am a teacher.

Wait.  I am a mom now to TWO furry children, one of which is half laying on my laptop as I write this.  He tired himself out from wrestling his sister AND dog bed (yeah.  I don't get the dog bed thing either.).

I sing, I tap dance, I, wait. Been there, done that... Okay, so I don't do either of those.  With my agility record this week, it ain't ever happenin'. I fell down at school, I mean flat on my back, not just  once.  Oh no.  TWICE! And, I realized I am now feeling my age.  The day after I fell the first time, I felt like a truck ran over me!  Yikes.

So my week has been:
No talking in the hall!
No, no!  Don't chew on that!
Shhh! (Students or dogs)
You need to write your assignments down in your planner.
Lay down.
Eat your food.
Don't eat dirt.
Finish your lunch.
Get in your crate.
Did you study?
If you leave the lid open on the wet wipes, then they become dry wipes (Yes, that is sarcasm).
Bring me a toy.
Write in cursive.
Whose paper is this?
A screw is a combination of a wedge and an inclined plane.
...And Mary, Queen of Scots, was beheaded.
Okay, you destroyed that toy.  That's going in the trash.
"Help! I've fallen twice, and I can't get up!"

But, what made my week was the arrival of my pinkeep swap package from Theresa of Dulaney Woods Treasures.  It was hosted by Wendy of Ravenwood Whimzies. What a delight! I was blown away by Theresa's talent and generosity! So, without further yacking on my part, take a gander at my precious package...

I did open it last, truly!  What a sweet note!

Insert sigh of delight...
Insert drooling...
I busted those little beauties open RIGHT AWAY!  Thank you, Theresa!!!!

All of my favorite colors! Just perfect!  But, you can only see the top.  Wait until you see the rest of it...

Wow.
An adorable and wonderful smelling beeswax sheepy made by Amy of Bumblebee Lane.
Beautiful gift tags!
A oh so sweet bear made by Theresa.  I am just blown away by her many talents!
He goes perfectly with my folk art animals that are around my Noah's Ark bird house!  He is right at home and dressed for the weather!
I put this at the end.  I would love for you to think I ate these slowly as I opened and admired my swap items.  In actuality, I should probably put this picture right after the open bag picture.  That would be the correct sequence.
So in all, just what an absolute thrill and joy to have such a beautiful package to open and enjoy after a long, stressful week!  Thank you, Theresa, for sharing your talent, for your thoughtfulness, and for your generosity! You are a blessing to me!

This was my first swap!  Thank you, Wendy, for organizing it!  It was so much fun!  I look forward to trying other swaps in the future!

Blessings and good night, dear friends!  You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily!  I miss chatting with you all so much!  I will be back soon, I promise! Thank you for your patience, friendship, and prayers!

Love and Hugs!
